Dr. Vicky Tagalakis is a clinician-researcher and teacher at the Jewish General Hospital and specializes in General Internal Medicine and Thrombosis Medicine. She is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at McGill University. Her clinical areas of interest include the management of venous thrombosis in cancer patients and pregnant women, and prevention of venous thrombosis in hospitalized patients. Dr. Tagalakis received her M.D. from McGill University, where she also completed her residency training in internal medicine. She subsequently completed training in clinical Thrombosis Medicine and obtained a Master's of Science degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from McGill University. She currently is a Scientist at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research of the Jewish General Hospital. Her research interests include the epidemiology of venous thrombosis, the elucidation of risk factors for cancer-related thrombosis, and treatment of cancer-associated thrombosis.
